R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The congregants of Sacred Heart Church in Waco are deeply appreciative of their pastor, the Reverend Lawrence Soler, and on September 10, 2005, they are celebrating his 50th anniversary in the priesthood with a Mass of Thanksgiving and a reception; and WHEREAS, Over the course of these past five decades, the Reverend Soler has strengthened the faith and uplifted the hearts and spirits of many people who have sought his wisdom and counsel; he has also presided over a host of joyous milestones in the lives of his parishioners, conducting thousands of marriages, baptisms, confirmations, and first communions; and WHEREAS, At Sacred Heart, where he has served for 27 years, the Reverend Soler has overseen a dramatic expansion of church facilities in order to serve the flourishing Catholic community in South Waco; in recent years, he has guided the construction of a $1.2 million sanctuary and a $2 million CCE and parish activity center; and WHEREAS, The Reverend Soler has been a blessing in the lives of countless people during a half-century of dedicated service to his church and community, and he remains a source of support and inspiration to all who know him; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby warmly congratulate the Reverend Lawrence Soler on his 50th anniversary in the priesthood and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the Reverend Soler as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
