H.R. No. 186R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Mike Davis of Pflugerville is celebrating more than 25 years of teaching as a dedicated and distinguished educator; and WHEREAS, Mr. Davis has taught math and history at Pflugerville High School and Hendrickson High School for the past 14 years; and WHEREAS, A native of Austin, Mr. Davis graduated from Abilene Christian University, and he is certified to teach math, English, social studies, and secondary industrial technology; and WHEREAS, With extraordinary dedication to his students, Mr. Davis has touched and transformed the lives of hundreds of young Texans; he is a man who "radiates his faith," according to one young person, and has dedicated his life to serving his Creator; through his faith, he has placed service to others above himself throughout his life, creating a most noble and enduring legacy; and WHEREAS, Above all, this outstanding Texan cherishes the love of his family: his wife, Judy, his son, Jonathan, and his daughter, Sarah, who all share his love of God and dedication to public service; and WHEREAS, Mike Davis has been a guiding influence in the lives of many students, and his dedication to excellence in education has earned him the respect and admiration of his pupils and colleagues; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby recognize Mike Davis for his lifetime of service, his devotion to his family and church, and his faith in the Almighty; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Davis as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
