R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Manuela S. Munoz of San Elizario is a treasured
member of the community she has been proud to call home throughout
her life; and
WHEREAS, Born on February 25, 1914, to Leonardo and Francisca
B. Sanchez, Ms. Munoz, at the age of 91, is one of the town's eldest
residents, and she attended elementary school in the building that
is now Los Portales Museum; as a young woman, she married Ambrosio
Munoz, Sr., with whom she shared 55 rewarding years of marriage,
until his passing, and raised seven children: Janie M. Garcia,
Frances M. Apodaca, Ambrosio Munoz, Jr., Katy M. Martinez, Becky
Munoz, Lucy M. Perez, and Daniel S. Munoz; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Munoz is a dedicated woman of faith and a member
of San Elceario Catholic Church; she continues to drive and enjoys
attending activities organized by the church's senior citizens
program, and spending time with her children, 19 grandchildren, 21
great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; and
WHEREAS, With a generous heart and kind spirit, Manuela Munoz
remains an inspiration to the members of her family as well as all
those who are privileged to share in her friendship; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby honor Manuela S. Munoz for
her contributions to the community of San Elizario and extend to her
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Munoz as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
