R E S O L U T I O N

	WHEREAS, At 14 years of age, Jessica B. Perez of San Elizario 

has already distinguished herself as a well-rounded student and a 

vital and valued member of her community; and

	WHEREAS, Selected as the recipient of the 2005 Overall 

Student of the Year Award at San Elizario Middle School, Ms. Perez 

is a member of the High A-B Honor Roll, won the Reading Nomination 

Award, participated in University Interscholastic League spelling, 

and won second place in the El Paso Sun Country Regional Science 

Fair; and

	WHEREAS, A talented athlete, Ms. Perez took second place in 

girls' singles tennis and participated in basketball and soccer, 

and was named Most Valuable Player in all three sports; and

	WHEREAS, She has also demonstrated considerable musical 

talent, earning 1st Division in Solo Ensemble for her performances 

on the French horn; and

	WHEREAS, Throughout her life, Ms. Perez has drawn great 

strength and support from her mother Becky Munoz, and her brother, 

Damian C. Romero; and

	WHEREAS, Although she may take justifiable pride in her many 

accomplishments, they are surely but the beginning of a future that 

is bright with promise; now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 

Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby honor Jessica B. Perez on 

her many accomplishments and extend to her sincere best wishes for 

continued success and happiness; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 

prepared for Ms. Perez as an expression of high regard by the Texas 

House of Representatives.
