R E S O L U T I O N

	WHEREAS, Donna "DeDe" Truitt has deservedly been named Woman 

of the Year for 2005 by the Brazoria Chamber of Commerce; and

	WHEREAS, The Woman of the Year award was created to honor 

Brazoria citizens who have made a difference in their community, 

and Mrs. Truitt is a most fitting recipient of this honor as she has 

devoted countless hours and a great deal of effort into her many 

volunteer activities; and

	WHEREAS, Each year, this notable woman works with the chamber 

to coordinate both the No-Name Festival Cook-Off and Christmas in 

Brazoria festivities, and in 2005, she secured the materials and 

manpower necessary to complete the installation of a new cooking 

pavilion for these events; and

	WHEREAS, Caring and compassionate, Mrs. Truitt has organized 

numerous initiatives to help others whenever she sees a need that is 

not being met, making her community a better place in which to live 

through her willingness to give so selflessly of her time and 

talents; now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 

Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Donna "DeDe" 

Truitt on being named Woman of the Year by the Brazoria Chamber of 

Commerce and commend her for her many good works; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 

prepared for Mrs. Truitt as an expression of high regard by the 

Texas House of Representatives.
