R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and
meaningful accomplishments may help to comfort the family and
friends of Loma Fisher Howell, who passed away on August 8, 2005, at
the age of 96; and
WHEREAS, Born on October 27, 1908, in Hanover, this native
Texan was the devoted wife of Lee Howell, with whom she enjoyed a
marriage that spanned more than a half-century; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Howell took great pride in her role as
matriarch of her close-knit family, and she cherished the
relationship she shared with her daughter, Virginia, her two
grandchildren, and her two great-grandchildren, providing them
with unconditional love and support; and
WHEREAS, Known for her quick wit, her feisty and independent
nature, and her unwavering faith, Loma Fisher Howell was a blessing
and inspiration to her family and her circle of friends; although
she will be sorely missed, her unique spirit will continue to endure
in the hearts of all those whose lives she touched; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay special tribute to the
life of Loma Fisher Howell and extend deepest sympathy to the
members of her family: to her daughter, Virginia Burden; to her
sister, Faye Trimble; to her grandchildren, Brian and Brent Burden;
to her great-grandchildren, Braxton and Hannah Burden; and to her
other family members and friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Loma Fisher
Howell.
