R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Our Mother of Mercy Parish Houston Federal Credit
Union celebrates a significant milestone in October 2005, when it
marks its 40th anniversary; and
WHEREAS, Chartered on October 20, 1965, with nine members
pooling $5 each, the credit union has thrived and today has nearly
$2 million in assets and 589 members, including congregants of St.
Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and their families; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the past four decades, the credit union
has benefited from the wise counsel and diligent work of committed
individuals, including Jesse Balthazar, who served as manager for
30 years, and Leonard Llorens, who has been president of the board
of directors since 1965; and
WHEREAS, All associated with Our Mother of Mercy Parish
Houston Federal Credit Union have remained dedicated to improving
the quality of life of its members, providing these hardworking
citizens with exceptional service and financial assistance to help
them realize their dreams; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Our Mother of
Mercy Parish Houston Federal Credit Union on its 40th anniversary
and extend to its members, directors, and staff best wishes for the
future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the credit union as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
