R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, No words can soften the blow of a young life cut
short, and it is with great sadness that we commemorate the passing
of Logan Daniel Jones of Houston on June 25, 2004, at the age of 13;
and
WHEREAS, Born July 16, 1990, Logan distinguished himself with
his larger-than-life personality from an early age, and he is
fondly remembered for his scrappy determination, his great love of
family and friends, and his irrepressible desire to entertain; and
WHEREAS, An avid sportsman, Logan enjoyed football,
skateboarding, bicycling, wrestling, and baseball, scoring the
winning run in the 2001 North Shore Little League playoffs, and his
enthusiasm for athletics was typically winning and infectious; and
WHEREAS, He was also possessed of an artistic temperament
that expressed itself both through his painting and drawing and
through the colorful clothing that aptly complemented his own
vibrant personality; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his life, Logan drew strength and joy
from his close-knit family, including his beloved mother, brother,
and sister, and their memories of the years they spent together as a
family will long be cherished; and
WHEREAS, Although Logan left this world far too soon, it is
fitting to remember the happiness he brought into the lives of all
who knew him during his years on this earth; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
Logan Daniel Jones and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his
family and to his many friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Logan
Daniel Jones.
