R E S O L U T I O N

	WHEREAS, Those Texans who give of themselves in behalf of the 

greater good are truly deserving of our gratitude and admiration, 

and Michelle Lyan Olivarez of Rio Grande City is one such 

individual; and

	WHEREAS, This remarkable seven-year-old has donated her hair 

for the second time to Locks of Love, a nonprofit organization that 

provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged young people 

suffering from medical hair loss; and

	WHEREAS, Miss Olivarez has bravely battled her own illness 

with a grace and resolve that belie her youthful age; she is truly 

an inspiration to all those who are fortunate to know and love her; 

and

	WHEREAS, In bringing joy to those in need, Michelle Olivarez 

has earned the respect and admiration of her friends and family, who 

admire her strength and determination in the face of all of life's 

challenges; now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 

Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commend Michelle Lyan 

Olivarez for her generous contribution to Locks of Love and extend 

to her sincere best wishes for all the health and happiness she so 

richly deserves; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 

prepared for Miss Olivarez as an expression of high regard by the 

Texas House of Representatives.
