H.R. No. 240





R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Words cannot express the profound sadness felt by the friends and family of David Valdez Reyna of Raymondville, who passed away on August 3, 2005, at the age of 55; and WHEREAS, Born on December 1, 1949, Mr. Reyna was raised in a family with seven siblings and graduated from the Raymondville Independent School District; he was employed at the Eddie Lucio Golf Course, where he met many Winter Texans, and he was a member of the Evening Lions Club and the Los Amigos Golf Club in Houston and Raymondville; and WHEREAS, Mr. Reyna was a congregant at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where he served as a hospitality minister and usher; he also enjoyed playing golf, Trivial Pursuit, and card games and cheering for his favorite sports teams, including the San Antonio Spurs and the Raymondville Bearkats; and WHEREAS, Intensely loyal and loving, this esteemed family man was devoted to his wife of 33 years, Margarita, and their cherished sons; he enjoyed a huge circle of friends, who admired his strength and courage in the face of all life's challenges; and WHEREAS, David Reyna was a remarkable man who touched the lives of many, and his memory will be forever cherished by those who were blessed to share in the warmth of his love and friendship; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of David Valdez Reyna and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Margarita Reyna; to his mother, Josefa V. Reyna; to his sons, Tomas D. Reyna, Jaime Reyna and his wife, Priscilla, Jose Emilio Hernandez, and Eduardo Hernandez and his wife, Michelle; to his brothers, Ricardo Reyna, Isidro Reyna and his wife, Tina, Arturo Reyna and his wife, Dalia, Rene Reyna, and Mario Flores; to his sisters, Maria Rios and her husband, Arnoldo, Lupita Reyna, and Janie Martinez; to his nieces and nephews; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of David Valdez Reyna.
