H.R. No. 246





R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Terry Wright of Upshur County has been honored by the Texas Poultry Federation with its Golden Feather Award in recognition of his exceptional character, excellent integrity, outstanding business ethics, and unselfish service and leadership to the Texas poultry industry; and WHEREAS, Born in New Boston, Mr. Wright graduated from high school in Daingerfield and earned his bachelor's degree in environmental management from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches; he began his career as an employee of the USDA's South Central Poultry Lab at Mississippi State University, and later joined Pilgrim's Pride Corp., where he currently serves as broiler production manager; and WHEREAS, Mr. Wright has devoted much time to the Texas Poultry Federation, the Texas Egg Council, and the Texas Broiler Council, and he has also served as chairman of the TPF Political Action Committee; for the past five years, he has represented the Lone Star State on the board of directors of the United States Poultry and Egg Association; and WHEREAS, Mr. Wright and his wife, Cheryl, live on a farm outside Gilmer, where they raise cattle and poultry; they especially enjoy the company of their two children, Scott and Heather, and their two granddaughters; and WHEREAS, Terry Wright's commitment to responsible business practices and the poultry industry of Texas is noteworthy, and he is most deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Terry Wright for his receipt of the Golden Feather Award from the Texas Poultry Federation and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Wright as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
