R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 100th birthday is truly cause for celebration,
and on September 17, 2005, Mae Hines of Houston will be observing
this significant milestone at a celebration given by Trinity
Gardens First Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS, Born on September 20, 1905, in Gueydan, Louisiana,
Ms. Hines is the mother of two daughters and a son, and she has
seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 16
great-great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, She has been Mother of Trinity Gardens First Baptist
Church for 20 years, a worthy matron of the Eastern Star for almost
30 years, and a member of Seniors for Christ; she enjoys crossword
puzzles and playing dominoes now, and when she was younger, she was
a housekeeper and worked with the state's poll tax system; and
WHEREAS, Mae Hines has brought great joy and happiness into
the lives of many; a cherished member of her family and church, she
has earned a special place in the hearts of all who are privileged
to know her; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Mae Hines on
the occasion of her 100th birthday and extend to her sincere best
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Hines as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
