H.R. No. 265





R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Those businesses that place a high priority on being good corporate citizens have discovered that contributions to their community are investments that are repaid many times over; and WHEREAS, IBC Bank of Laredo is one such institution, and its many initiatives aimed at improving the lives of South Texans have earned it recognition as a finalist for a 2005 Corporate Citizenship Award, presented by the United States Chamber of Commerce Center for Corporate Citizenship; and WHEREAS, Nominated in the category of corporate stewardship for small-to-midsize businesses, IBC has supported numerous programs throughout the Rio Grande Valley, including its proactive placement of actual bank branches in Brownsville and McAllen grade schools; as part of micro-communities run by the students, the banks function as teaching tools for financial literacy; and WHEREAS, Through this and other outreach efforts, IBC has secured its stature as a valued corporate citizen, and it is indeed appropriate that its leadership in advancing important social and economic goals in the communities it serves be recognized with this noteworthy nomination; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby recognize IBC Bank of Laredo for being named a finalist for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Center for Corporate Citizenship's 2005 Corporate Citizenship Award; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the bank as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
