A BILL TO BE ENTITLED



AN ACT



relating to appropriating money to support the operations and 

missions of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center--El 

Paso.

	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        

	SECTION 1.  The amount of $22,500,000 is appropriated out of 

the general revenue fund to the Texas Tech University Health 

Sciences Center--El Paso for the state fiscal year ending August 

31, 2006, and the amount of $22,500,000 is appropriated out of the 

general revenue fund to the Texas Tech University Health Sciences 

Center--El Paso for the state fiscal year ending August 31, 2007,  

to support the operations and missions of the health sciences 

center.  The unexpended balance, if any, of the amount appropriated 

for the state fiscal year ending August 31, 2006, is appropriated to 

the health sciences center for the state fiscal year ending August 

31, 2007, for the same purposes.

	SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives 

a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as 

provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this 

Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this 

Act takes effect on the 91st day after the last day of the 

legislative session.
