SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 28
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize the New Creation Christian Fellowship on the joyous occasion of its 20th anniversary; and WHEREAS, The New Creation Christian Fellowship has its roots in a congregation that originated in San Antonio as a prayer group in the home of Brother Alfred and Sister Pearlene Conyers; the first public meeting was held at a Wyatt's Cafeteria on April 25, 1985; in 1986, the congregation moved to New Creation Plaza, and in 2000, the church purchased The Cathedral, which is located at "the gateway" to San Antonio in Windcrest; and WHEREAS, Since its founding, the church has continued to grow and to undertake many worthy projects, both within the community and abroad; the church's numerous international mission and outreach initiatives have taken place in Africa, Europe and the Caribbean Basin; and WHEREAS, New Creation Christian Fellowship has become a cherished source of strength for its members during their hardships and in times of bereavement and a place for sharing joy during times of abundance; and WHEREAS, In its observance of its 20th anniversary, the church is celebrating its enduring commitment to providing enlightenment and hope to the community and to people around the world; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 79th Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby extend best wishes to the clergy and members of the New Creation Christian Fellowship on the joyous occasion of its 20th anniversary; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the church as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
