SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 35
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Walter Sloan on the occasion of his retirement from the
Southampton/Boulevard Oaks Civic Association Patrol; and
WHEREAS, Cofounder of the patrol, Walter is moving to
an assisted living community after 20 years of outstanding
service to the residents of the Southampton and Boulevard Oaks
neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, The organization's longtime treasurer, Walter
played a major role in maintaining and improving the patrol
over the years, and area residents benefited from his dedication
and good judgment; and
WHEREAS, An exemplary gentleman, Walter is beloved and
respected by his colleagues in the association, and he will
be missed by his neighbors and the police officers whom he
befriended during his service; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commend
Walter Sloan for his years of valuable service to his
neighborhood association; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
