SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 62
In Memory
of
James Randall McElroy
WHEREAS, The family and friends of James Randall McElroy
were deeply saddened by the sudden passing of this exceptional
person and loving father on July 21, 2005, at the age of 56; and
WHEREAS, Born on December 17, 1948, in Tyler, Mr. McElroy
graduated from Rusk High School and Stephen F. Austin State
University, where he was a member of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity;
and
WHEREAS, This recent Austin resident and longtime resident
of Rusk and Center was a valued member of his communities who made
significant contributions through his work as a small business
owner and as a loan officer; Mr. McElroy also served for many
years as a state-certified real estate appraiser; he attended the
First Baptist Church in both Rusk and Center and was a member of
the Lions Club and Ducks Unlimited; and
WHEREAS, Randy McElroy positively touched the lives of
countless individuals with his humor, compassion, and generosity,
and he leaves behind an impressive legacy of people who love
and respect him; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the
life of James Randall McElroy and extend sincere sympathy to the
members of his family: his wife, Suzy Summers Valentine McElroy;
his son, Cameron James, and his wife, Andrea; his son,
Collin Randall McElroy; his stepchildren, Austin Summers Valentine
and Chelsea Valentine; his grandson, Ethan James; his brother,
Ronald Lewis McElroy; his sister, Sharon McElroy Taylor; his
brother, Thomas McElroy, and sister-in-law, Mary McElroy; and
his many other relatives and friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
this day, it do so in memory of James Randall "Randy" McElroy.
