SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 71
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Carlton Hackett, who retired on July 31, 2005, after
22 years of loyal service with the Office of the Comptroller of
Public Accounts; and
WHEREAS, Carlton joined the comptroller's office in 1983
following his military service as a "Super Trooper" with the
First Cavalry Division at Fort Hood; Carlton holds a master's
degree in business and a doctoral degree in public
administration; and
WHEREAS, During his career in the comptroller's office,
Carlton brought his talents to bear in a wide variety of
positions; he served as a senior budget analyst, senior internal
auditor, operations liaison, area manager, and special assistant
to the director of Revenue Administration; and
WHEREAS, An exemplary employee, Carlton is admired and
respected by his colleagues, not only for his exceptional
professionalism and dedication, but for his jovial nature and
sense of humor, and his presence in the Office of the Comptroller
of Public Accounts will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commend
Carlton Hackett on his exceptional service and his many
contributions to our state and extend to him best wishes for the
future with his own management consulting company and his worldly
travels; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
