SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 82



	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 

recognize Cissy Closson, who is retiring from the Office of the 

Comptroller of Public Accounts on August 31, 2005, after 30 years 

of loyal service to the state; and

	WHEREAS, Cissy began her employment with the state at the 

Texas Education Agency; she joined the comptroller's office on 

November 1, 1977, in the Revenue Accounting Division as an 

accounts examiner; and

	WHEREAS, In 1981, she transferred to the Data Services 

Division, where she worked for several years as a system tester 

before turning her exceptional skills to the programming area of 

the agency; she became a programmer for the Falcon System, which 

later was converted into the Online Transaction Correction 

System, and she earned repute for her expertise in her field and 

for her work with the user community; and

	WHEREAS, Cissy has had the privilege of working for 

Comptrollers Bob Bullock, John Sharp, and Carole Keeton Strayhorn;

she is a talented and resourceful individual who has handled

her many responsibilities with exceptional efficiency and 

dedication; and

	WHEREAS, An exemplary employee, Cissy is admired and 

respected by her colleagues, and her presence in the Office of 

the Comptroller of Public Accounts will be greatly missed; now, 

therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

79th Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commend Cissy Closson

on her exceptional service and her many contributions to our 

state and extend to her best wishes for the retirement years 

ahead; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 

her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
