SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 92



	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 

recognize the grand opening of the Chinese Community Center in 

Houston; and



	WHEREAS, Grand opening events begin Thursday, August 18, 

with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and remarks by United States 

Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison; an open house for the community 

will be held on August 20; and



	WHEREAS, The Chinese Community Center is a multi-ethnic 

social service agency established with the goal of bridging the 

East and the West by enriching families with educational, 

cultural, and social service programs; and



	WHEREAS, The Chinese Community Center is a valuable asset 

to the Houston community, and area citizens look forward to 

enjoying the new facility and participating in the center's 

programs; now, therefore, be it



	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

79th Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commend all 

associated with the Chinese Community Center for the support they 

bring to the Chinese citizens of Houston and extend to them best 

wishes for an enjoyable grand opening; and, be it further



	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as an 

expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
