SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 93
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Innocent Onyenaucheya, who is retiring from the Health and Human Services Commission on August 29, 2005, after more than 22 years of loyal service to the state; and WHEREAS, Innocent Onyenaucheya began his employment with the state as a disaster assistance worker in August of 1983 after Hurricane Alicia; following a brief interval from state service, he returned to the commission in February, 1985, as an eligibility specialist; and WHEREAS, Over the years, he held a number of administrative positions and was appointed regional director of the 19-county Dallas/Arlington Region in August of 1996; and WHEREAS, He returned to Houston in 1999 to manage the Regional Service Center and to serve as program director for a number of Houston area offices, including offices at Fuqua, Baytown, Anahuac, Dickerson, Pasadena, and Texas City; his current head office is the Scott Street office; and WHEREAS, Throughout his career with the state, Innocent has handled his many responsibilities with exceptional efficiency and dedication; and WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, he has earned the admiration and respect of all who have had the pleasure to know and work with him, and his presence at the Health and Human Services Commission will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 79th Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commend Innocent Onyenaucheya for his many contributions to the state and extend to him best wishes in all his future endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
