SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 96
In Memory
of
Jamie Lee Davis
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
of Austin in mourning the loss of Jamie Lee Davis, who died
August 6, 2005, at the age of 36; and
WHEREAS, Born April 29, 1969, Jamie was a graduate of
Southwest Texas State University and had worked for Money Box for
the last seven years; and
WHEREAS, Jamie cherished his family above all else and
treasured the time he spent with them; he was never happier than
when swimming with his children, scuba diving with his dad, and
spending time with family around the dinner table; and
WHEREAS, An enthusiast for all things Austin, Jamie
enjoyed riding his bicycle on the hike and bike trails and
attending Texas Longhorn football games and Round Rock Express
baseball games; and
WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, Jamie
gave generously of himself to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and
selfless ways will not be forgotten by those who knew him; and
WHEREAS, Jamie Davis lived his life to the fullest and was
a devoted husband and father, and he leaves behind memories that
will be treasured forever by his family and many friends; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby extend sincere
condolences to the bereaved family of Jamie Lee Davis: his wife,
Marcie; his children, Conner and Claire; his mother, Karen Murphy;
his father, Joe Murphy; his sister, Jenny Murphy; his mother-in-law,
Diana Wise; and his brothers-in-law, Brad and Greg Wise; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy
from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this
day, it do so in memory of Jamie Lee Davis.
