SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 103
In Memory
of
Robert L. Middleton
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and commemorates the life of Robert L. Middleton, who died July 11, 2005, at the age of 82; and WHEREAS, Bob was born to Robert Lee Middleton, Sr., and Minnie Mae Parrish Middleton on June 13, 1923, in Texarkana; he married Ruth Augustine Scott on August 30, 1943; and WHEREAS, He was a veteran of the United States Merchant Marines and served his country for three years during World War II; and WHEREAS, An exemplary citizen, he was a respected citizen in his community; he was a retired pawnbroker; and WHEREAS, His faith was exemplified in his daily life; he was a faithful member of First Christian Church in Cleburne; and WHEREAS, Bob enriched the lives of all who knew him with his warmth and kindness, and his wisdom and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew him; and WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 79th Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Robert L. Middleton: his wife, Ruth Middleton; his son, Wayne Ray Middleton; his daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Allen Bennett and Peggy and Gary Benson; and his six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family as an expression of profound sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Robert L. Middleton.
