SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 110
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Mrs. Pearl Day on the grand occasion of her 109th birthday; and WHEREAS, This gracious lady is well known for her charm and generosity of spirit, and she is a revered resident of Houston; and WHEREAS, Pearl Day, the seventh of twelve children, was born on September 6, 1896, in Hazel Dell, Illinois; after the family moved to Texas, they lived in East Texas and in the Houston area; and WHEREAS, Living in her own apartment and preparing two of her own meals each day, she attributes her long life to her faith, instilled by her loving parents through their daily example of Christian living; and WHEREAS, A beloved and respected member of her community, Mrs. Day is treasured for her wisdom and her enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 79th Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby recognize Mrs. Pearl Day as a treasured citizen of Houston and the State of Texas; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as a memento of this special day.
