SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 119
WHEREAS, On June 19, 2005, Thomas Ehlers and Allison Becker were united in marriage in Sayville, New York, much to the delight of all who know them; and WHEREAS, Natives of New York, Thomas and Allison met while working for a Scholastic Aptitude Test prep business, where they tutored high school students preparing to take the famed college entrance examination; and WHEREAS, Tom, who is also known as "Caveman," is a graduate of Princeton University and is now prospering as the owner of his own Scholastic Aptitude Test prep business; his new wife is an alumnus of the University of Michigan; and WHEREAS, The couple's engagement began on a Florida beach on a night so cold and windy that Tom's bended-knee proposal went mostly unheard, partly due to Mother Nature's cacophony, but also because of Allison's persistent complaining about the inclement weather; the sight of the engagement ring quickly rectified the situation, however, and it has been smooth sailing ever since; and WHEREAS, The marriage of two people is a joyous event that marks the beginning of a union filled with limitless possibilities, and it is a privilege to honor Tom and Allison as they embark on a bright and promising future together; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 79th Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Thomas Ehlers and Allison Becker on their recent marriage and extend best wishes to them for much happiness and success in all their endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared for Tom and Allison as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
