SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 136
In Memory
of
Edmond D. Karam
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Edmond D. Karam, who passed away August 6, 2005, at the age of 89; and WHEREAS, An exemplary citizen, Edmond Karam was a veteran of World War II; he retired from the Consolidated Produce Company; and WHEREAS, He showed his faith in his daily life; he was a lifelong member of Saint George Maronite Catholic Church; and WHEREAS, Edmond will be remembered for his warmth and generosity; his wisdom and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew him; and WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 79th Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Edmond D. Karam: his wife, Sophia; his sons and daughters-in-law, Edmond A. and Rosemary Karam, David R. Karam, Eugene and Suzanne Karam, and Ernest and Elyse Karam; his daughters and sons-in-law, Edna and Frank Ashmore and Christine and Paul Broussard; his brother, Morris Karam; his sister, Judy Karam; and his 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Edmond D. Karam.
