LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATURE 2nd CALLED SESSION - 2005

August 15, 2005

TO:
Honorable Todd Staples, Chair, Senate Committee on Transportation & Homeland Security

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB32 by Barrientos (Relating to the designation of a portion of State Highway 130 in Williamson, Travis, Caldwell, and Guadalupe Counties as the Pickle Parkway.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to design, construct, and erect markers designating the portion of State Highway 130 between Interstate Highway 35 at State Highway 195 and Interstate Highway 10 in Guadalupe County as the Pickle Parkway.  Based on the analysis of TxDOT, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.

The bill would take effect immediately upon receiving a two-thirds majority vote in each house.  If the bill does not receive a two-thirds majority vote in each house, the bill would take effect on the 91st day after the last day of the legislative session.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
