BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

 

Following the 79th Regular Legislative session, the Governor vetoed the Information Resources strategy for the Texas Commission on the Arts.  House Bill 118 would appropriate a portion of the amounts vetoed to operate agency programs.

 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

 

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution. 

 

ANALYSIS

 

The following appropriations are made in addition to amounts previously appropriated for the state fiscal biennium ending August 31, 2007.

 

House Bill 118 appropriates the following amounts of interest earned on money in the Texas Cultural Endowment Fund and transferred to General Revenue-Dedicated Account No. 334 (Texas Commission on the Arts operating fund) to the Texas Commission on the Arts to support the commission’s programs:

 

EFFECTIVE DATE

 

On passage, or if the Act does not receive the necessary vote, the Act takes effect on the 91st day after adjournment.
