A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to appropriating money to the Texas Commission on the 
Arts.        
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  In addition to amounts previously appropriated 
to the Texas Commission on the Arts for the state fiscal biennium 
ending August 31, 2007, to support the commission's programs the 
following amounts of interest earned on money in the Texas Cultural 
Endowment Fund and transferred to General Revenue Dedicated Account 
No. 334 (Texas Commission on the Arts operating fund) are 
appropriated to the commission out of the operating fund:
		(1)  the amount of $156,261 for the state fiscal year 
ending August 31, 2006; and
		(2)  the amount of $156,261 for the state fiscal year 
ending August 31, 2007.
	SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives 
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as 
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this 
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this 
Act takes effect on the 91st day after the last day of the 
legislative session.
