CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Beatrice Marie Langehennig has served the people of
Mason County for 35 years, and her impending retirement as county
and district clerk provides a fitting opportunity to pay tribute to
this esteemed Texan; and
WHEREAS, Elected in 1971, Mrs. Langehennig has been a
dedicated and highly respected public official, running for office
unopposed in each of her elections after the first; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Langehennig has held leadership roles with such
professional organizations as the County and District Clerks
Association of Texas, which she has served as secretary, vice
president, and president, the Texas Association of Counties Board
of Directors, the Texas Association of Counties Service Corporation
Board of Directors, and the Texas Association of Counties Workers
Compensation Fund Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Mrs. Langehennig has lent her time and
talents to the Mason Historical Society and to her congregation at
St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she has been a church council
secretary, Sunday school secretary, Sunday school teacher, and
member of the audit committee; and
WHEREAS, Before beginning her service as county and district
clerk, she worked with Campbell Insurance Company, Bexar County
National Bank, and Commercial Bank; and
WHEREAS, Beatrice Langehennig has established a legacy of
noteworthy service in behalf of the residents of Mason County and
the citizens of the Lone Star State, and she may indeed reflect with
pride on her record of achievements; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the 79th Legislature of the State of Texas,
3rd Called Session, hereby commend Beatrice Marie Langehennig for
her outstanding tenure as county and district clerk for Mason
County and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mrs. Langehennig as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
