R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Richardson Berkner Rams boys' basketball team reached the Class 5A final four in the 2006 UIL state tournament; and WHEREAS, After charging through an outstanding 31-7 season, the No. 3 ranked Rams glided through the state tournament before meeting a narrow 48-45 loss to Plano High School in the semifinals; and WHEREAS, Contributing to this total team effort were Cameron Kinlaw, Calvin Rubles, Justin Johnson, Davon Morrison, Phillip Roth, Ben Brown, Xavier Perkins, Wesley Scourten, Giordin Cole, Ryan Harper, Ugo Chinasa, Wesley Nakwaasah, Bob Boese, Candrelle Robinson, and Adrian Cambell; and WHEREAS, Coaches Rod Wright and Travis Edwards ably schooled these exceptional student-athletes in the finer points of the game and instilled in them the values of hard work, dedication, and good sportsmanship; the team enjoyed the unwavering support of athletic director Jim Ledford and principal Dave Casey; and WHEREAS, The Berkner Rams are a source of tremendous pride to their school and their supporters in the community, and they truly deserve commendation for a notable 2005-2006 season; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate the Berkner Rams basketball team for reaching the Class 5A final four in the 2006 UIL state tournament and extend to the coaches and players best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
