R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The passing of R. Floyd Price of Kerrville on
September 20, 2005, at the age of 83, brought great sadness to the
family and friends of this esteemed Texan; and
WHEREAS, Born in Waxahachie to Rufus Floyd and Aubie Price on
June 10, 1922, Mr. Price served in the U.S. Navy during World War II
and was an admired and respected member of the Kerrville community;
and
WHEREAS, He practiced his faith as a member of the First
Presbyterian Church of Kerrville and was affiliated with numerous
service organizations, including the Kerrville Masonic Lodge, the
Scottish Rite, and the Kerrville Rotary Club, which he twice served
as president; and
WHEREAS, A former president of the Kerrville Board of
Realtors, Mr. Price was the founder of the Kerrville MLS; he enjoyed
membership in the Riverhill Country Club and the Hill Country Trap
and Skeet Club, and further devoted his time to service in the
Knights Templar, Commandry No. 7, the Hill Country Shrine Club,
Kerrville No. 305, and the Royal Arch Masons, Kerrville No. 240 R. &
S. M.; and
WHEREAS, R. Floyd Price was a dedicated family man and
community pillar who will long be fondly remembered, for his spirit
remains in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
R. Floyd Price and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his
family: to his wife, Gloria Price; to his daughters, Edie Barton
and her husband, Paul, and Liz Price; to his son, Preston Andrew
Price and his wife, Susan; to his grandchildren, Kellie Price, Cris
Price, Kimberly Price, Taylor Price, Damien Barton, and Blaire
Barton; to his sister, Helen Lois Stafford; and to his other
relatives and friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of R. Floyd
Price.
