R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The congregants of Greater Love Baptist Church in Austin are deeply grateful for the ministry of their pastor, the Reverend Isaac Grant, Jr., and his wife, Constance D. Grant, and they commemorated Reverend Grant's seventh anniversary with the church on January 28, 2006; and WHEREAS, Outstanding spiritual leadership, compassionate guidance, and strong faith have been cornerstones of Reverend Grant's service to the members of Greater Love Baptist Church; and WHEREAS, Over the course of his impressive tenure with the congregation, he has implemented a number of noteworthy programs designed to provide emotional and spiritual support to those in need, including the Fork in the Road Ministry, Golden Harvest Ministry, Prison to Praise Ministry, Women of Love Ministry, Food and Pantry Ministry, and The Clothes Closet; and WHEREAS, In addition, 100 new members have joined under his guidance, and two sons of the church have been called to the ministry; Reverend Grant has also lent his time and talents to a host of worthy organizations, serving as a partner in the Black Church Outreach Program on AIDS and as a member of the Religion and Labor Network of Austin, Austin Interfaith Coalition, and American Baptist Association; and WHEREAS, Reverend Grant has been a blessing in the lives of countless people during his years of dedicated service to the ministry, and he remains an inspiration to all who are privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate the Reverend Isaac Grant, Jr., and his wife, Constance D. Grant, on the occasion of Reverend Grant's seventh pastoral anniversary at Greater Love Baptist Church and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Reverend and Mrs. Grant as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
