R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Justin James Veltman of Boy Scouts of America Troop No. 384 in Burleson has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding criteria, Mr. Veltman earned 22 merit badges and successfully completed an Eagle Scout project of benefit to his community, which involved cleaning and painting a room used for storage at Green Oaks School in Arlington so it could be used as a classroom; and WHEREAS, Mr. Veltman's stellar scouting career also included his participation in President George W. Bush's gubernatorial inauguration in January 1999 and presidential inauguration in January 2001, as well as Governor Rick Perry's gubernatorial inauguration in 2003; and WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability; in addition to his induction into the Order of the Arrow, he has ably served his fellow scouts as patrol leader, assistant patrol leader, troop librarian, and senior patrol leader, winning their respect and admiration as he worked toward the highest rank that scouting offers; and WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Veltman's dedication to excellence and his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Justin James Veltman on earning the rank of Eagle Scout, and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Veltman as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
