H.R. No. 94 



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The Reverend Charles R. Dunn and his wife, Shirley, 
are being honored by the members of Central Baptist Church in Deer 
Park for 40 years of dedicated service to that congregation; and
	WHEREAS, The Dunns' first Sunday service at Central Baptist 
was held on Easter Sunday in 1966, with 21 members in attendance; 
since that time, the congregation has undertaken three extensive 
building programs in order to accommodate its growing membership; 
and
	WHEREAS, Reverend Dunn has uplifted the hearts and spirits of 
countless people through his wise counsel and powerful teaching, 
and the more than 6,000 sermons he has delivered from the pulpit of 
Central Baptist are but one testament to his tireless devotion; 
moreover, under the leadership of this esteemed clergyman, numerous 
young men and women have themselves answered the call to ministry 
and to mission work in posts scattered throughout the world; and
	WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Reverend Dunn derives great 
inspiration and support from his talented wife, who has graciously 
shared her time and gifts in behalf of myriad church activities; 
blessed with a fine family, the Dunns are cherished by their four 
children and 13 grandchildren, for whom this devoted couple are 
exceptional role models; and
	WHEREAS, Reverend and Mrs. Dunn have spent untold hours 
tending to the spiritual needs of their congregants, and they 
indeed merit special commendation on this memorable milestone in 
their tenure at Central Baptist Church; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate the Reverend 
Charles R. Dunn and Shirley Dunn on their 40 years of faithful 
service to Central Baptist Church and extend to them sincere best 
wishes for continued success and fulfillment; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Reverend and Mrs. Dunn as an expression of high regard 
by the Texas House of Representatives.
