R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, In the year 2005, Jack and Marline Byrd celebrated
their golden wedding anniversary with family and friends at a
reception hosted by their children and grandchildren at the Midland
Country Club; and
WHEREAS, United in matrimony on August 26, 1955, in San
Angelo, the Byrds have since been blessed with a loving family that
includes their three children and their spouses, Jeff and Billie
Byrd, Greg and Patricia Byrd, and Shari Byrd, and their
grandchildren, Josh, Amy, Jared, Morgan, Heather, and Victoria
Byrd; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Byrd lived in Tacoma, Washington,
before returning to Texas and settling in Midland in 1975; Mr. Byrd
has been active in the oil and gas business since 1956, running Byrd
Operating Company and its predecessor, Lacy & Byrd, Inc., since
1979; Mrs. Byrd is a career homemaker and both she and her husband
are members of First Baptist Church of Midland; and
WHEREAS, For half a century, Mr. and Mrs. Byrd have built a
strong bond of love, while filling each other's lives with many
happy times and cherished family memories, and their enduring
marriage remains a source of inspiration to their family and
friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Jack and
Marline Byrd on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them
best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Byrd as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
