H.R. No. 99
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Vernon and Joyce Syler of Midland celebrated their
golden wedding anniversary on December 2, 2005; and
WHEREAS, United in matrimony in 1955 at Temple Baptist Church
in Midland, Mr. Syler and the former Joyce Moore have since shared
an enduring union that has been blessed with two sons, Mike and
Matt; moreover, they have enjoyed welcoming into their family two
grandchildren and a great-grandchild; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Syler are valued congregants of
Hillcrest Baptist Church; Mr. Syler has worked in the radiator
business for more than 50 years, and he and his wife have owned S&S
Radiator for 26 years; and
WHEREAS, This devoted couple have nurtured a strong bond of
love and mutual respect, filling each other's lives with many happy
times and cherished family memories over the past half century;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Vernon and
Joyce Syler on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Syler as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
