H.R. No. 103


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Midland residents Lloyd and Ruth Thomas celebrated the joyous occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary on February 7, 2006; and WHEREAS, United in matrimony in Oakland, California, in 1946, Mr. Thomas and the former Ruth Lesley lived in Big Spring before moving to Midland 10 years ago; over the course of their marriage, they have been blessed with four children, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, The Thomases have led busy and productive lives during the past six decades; in addition to raising their family, Mrs. Thomas has been a dedicated homemaker throughout the marriage while Mr. Thomas worked for Fina/Cosden Pipeline for 29 years before retiring in 1983; today, the couple remain valued members of Fairmont Park Church of Christ; and WHEREAS, The enduring union of Lloyd and Ruth Thomas offers eloquent testimony to the meaning of love and commitment, and their marriage is a genuine inspiration to all those who share in the richness of their lives; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Lloyd and Ruth Thomas on the milestone of their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them heartfelt best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Thomas as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
