R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Alvin and Earlene Riley of Lamesa celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on January 27, 2006, with members of their extended family; and WHEREAS, Mr. Riley and the former Earlene Northcutt were united in matrimony on January 27, 1946, in Littlefield, and six decades later, their union remains a source of inspiration to their loved ones; and WHEREAS, The Rileys have been blessed with four children, Joyce, Judy, Roy, and Billy, as well as sons-in-law Richard Mansell and Joe Kent, daughter-in-law Lisa Riley, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; and WHEREAS, Active members of the Welch Church of Christ, the Rileys are enjoying the golden years of their retirement; Mr. Riley farmed and ranched to support his family, while Mrs. Riley has remained a devoted wife, mother, and career homemaker; and WHEREAS, For six decades, Alvin and Earlene Riley have shared life's trials and triumphs hand in hand, and their enduring marriage offers eloquent testimony to the meaning of love and commitment; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Alvin and Earlene Riley on their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Riley as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
