                                                                  H.R. No. 115



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Glenn and LaDon Matthews of Lamesa commemorated 
their 50th wedding anniversary on September 3, 2005, to the delight 
of their family and friends; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Matthews and the former LaDon Chitwood became 
lifelong partners when they pledged their mutual love and support 
on September 3, 1955, in a ceremony held at the Bryan Street Baptist 
Church in Lamesa; a half-century later to the day, they celebrated 
their enduring relationship in the company of their son and 
daughter-in-law, Terry and Pat Matthews, and made plans to continue 
their memorable celebration with a cruise in the company of their 
entire family; and
	WHEREAS, A certified public accountant, Mr. Matthews has 
practiced in Lamesa for 48 years, operating his own CPA firm with 
his wife for the better part of their marriage; the couple are 
valued residents of their community, where they are active members 
of the Lamesa Church of Christ; and
	WHEREAS, Together, Mr. and Mrs. Matthews have shared the joys 
and challenges of five decades of marriage, and they remain an 
inspiration to all who are privileged to know them; now, therefore, 
be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Glenn and 
LaDon Matthews on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them 
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Matthews as an expression of high regard 
by the Texas House of Representatives.
