R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary is truly reason for celebration, and Gary and Glenda Pearce of Midland commemorated this special milestone in their marriage on September 17, 2005; and WHEREAS, Mr. Pearce and the former Glenda Till exchanged their wedding vows on September 17, 1955, in a ceremony held in San Saba; their enduring union has brought them much fulfillment through the years and continues to inspire a wide circle of loved ones; blessed with a cherished family, the couple take great pride in their children, Rhonda Smith, Clellan Pearce, and Kevin Pearce, and rejoice in their grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Formerly residents of Richland Springs and Denver City, the Pearces moved to Midland in 1960; two years later they joined Cotton Flat Baptist Church, where they remain valued congregants; and WHEREAS, Before her retirement, Glenda Pearce worked with the First National Bank, First City National Bank, Permian Telco Federal Credit Union, and the FDIC; Mr. Pearce concluded a respected career at Chevron Texaco in 2002; he has also been employed with Eagle Computing Corporation, Coquina Oil Corporation, Texaco Exploration & Production, Inc., and the Midland Fire Department; and WHEREAS, For five decades, Mr. and Mrs. Pearce have experienced life's rewards and challenges as devoted partners, and they may indeed reflect on their marriage with joy for all the special times they've shared, even as they look to the future with anticipation for those still to come; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Gary and Glenda Pearce on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Pearce as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
