H.R. No. 119
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, John and Jo Marie Them of Midland commemorated the
joyous occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary with a special
mass at St. Stephen's Catholic Church on September 11, 2005; and
WHEREAS, Joined in matrimony on September 11, 1955, in a
ceremony held in New York, the couple made their home there for many
years until moving to Midland in 1978; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Them have derived much happiness from
their union throughout the years, and today they count among their
blessings their children, Diane Houghtaling, John Them, and Lori
Lightfoot, as well as six grandchildren and one great-grandchild;
and
WHEREAS, For more than half a century, the Thems have shared
life's joys and challenges hand in hand, and they may indeed reflect
with pride on all they have achieved as devoted life partners; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate John and Jo
Marie Them on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Them as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
