R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary is truly cause for 
rejoicing, and Robert and Virginia McLelland of Midland marked this 
momentous milestone in their long and happy life together on 
January 7, 2006; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. McLelland and the former Virginia Wilson were 
married on January 7, 1956, at Elmwood Methodist Church in Dallas; 
their union has been blessed with a treasured family that includes 
their children, Robert McLelland III, Keith McLelland and his wife, 
Wende, and Kris James and her husband, Jeff, as well as eight 
grandchildren and a great-grandchild; and
	WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, the 
McLellands have resided in Midland for 35 years and are valued 
congregants of Midland Christian Fellowship; Mr. McLelland, now 
retired, formerly owned McLelland Insurance Brokerage, and Mrs. 
McLelland has been a homemaker throughout her marriage, caring for 
her lively family with affection and good humor; and
	WHEREAS, For five decades, the McLellands have enjoyed a 
relationship founded on love and mutual respect, and their marriage 
remains a source of inspiration and joy to all who have shared in 
the richness of their life together; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Robert and 
Virginia McLelland on their golden wedding anniversary and extend 
to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it 
further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. McLelland as an expression of high regard 
by the Texas House of Representatives.
