R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Joe and Delia Gonzales of Lamesa observed their 50th 
wedding anniversary in January 2006, and they marked the occasion 
in the company of their large family; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Gonzales and the former Delia Balderas were 
united in matrimony on January 1, 1956, in Lamesa; their marriage 
has been blessed with seven children, Jose Gonzales, Diane 
Gonzales, Mary Lou Garza, Nancy Valderrama, Christella Acosta, 
Louis Gonzales, and Michael Gonzales, as well as 16 grandchildren 
and 10 great-grandchildren; and
	WHEREAS, Born and raised in McAllen, Mrs. Gonzales is a 
devoted wife, mother, and career homemaker; Mr. Gonzales is a 
Lamesa native and supported his family by working as a cement 
contractor; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Gonzales practice their faith as active 
members of the Assembly of God Church; their marriage is a source of 
inspiration to all who know and love them, and these devoted life 
partners may reflect with pride on all they have achieved together 
over the course of their enduring union; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Joe and Delia 
Gonzales on their 50th anniversary and extend to them best wishes 
for continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Gonzales as an expression of high regard 
by the Texas House of Representatives.
