H.R. No. 140
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Robert and Dessie Knott of Midland celebrated their
60th wedding anniversary on July 28, 2005, marking a momentous
milestone in their long and happy marriage; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Knott and the former Dessie Parsons were united
in matrimony on July 28, 1945, in Sonora; the couple have lived in
Midland since 1954 and are respected members of the community; and
WHEREAS, Retired professionals, Mr. Knott was employed by
Arco before his retirement in 1985, while Mrs. Knott worked for the
Texas Department of Agriculture in Sutton County; and
WHEREAS, Members of First Baptist Church, Mr. and Mrs. Knott
have set an inspirational example of the meaning of love and
commitment for their fellow congregants, and they may take great
pride in their six decades of marriage; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Robert and
Dessie Knott on their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them
best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Knott as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
