R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, In commemoration of their golden wedding 
anniversary, Lamesa residents Joe and Joann Stone were the guests 
of honor at a family-hosted celebration held in March 2006; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Stone and the former Joann Hendricks began their 
journey as husband and wife on March 20, 1956, at a ceremony held at 
Emanuel Baptist Church in Brownfield, the West Texas community 
where both the bride and groom were raised; in the early days of 
their marriage, the couple lived in Harlingen before making Lamesa 
their permanent home; and
	WHEREAS, Born in Boswell, Oklahoma, Mrs. Stone has been a 
dedicated homemaker throughout her marriage, and she has also 
worked outside the home in retail management; Mr. Stone is a native 
of Harmony who is retired from a distinguished career with the Texas 
Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol; and
	WHEREAS, The Stones are the proud parents of three children, 
Mike, Lonnie, and Richard, and they have also shared in the joy of 
welcoming two beloved grandchildren into the family fold; and
	WHEREAS, Together, Mr. and Mrs. Stone have experienced life's 
trials and triumphs for five decades, and their enduring union 
remains an inspiration to their loved ones; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby warmly congratulate Joe and 
Joann Stone on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them 
heartfelt best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Stone as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
