R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The year 2006 marks the 40th anniversary of the Reverend R. L. Taylor as pastor of the Pentecostal Church of God in Christ in Fort Worth, and this milestone presents an ideal opportunity to recognize him for the invaluable contributions he has made to his community of faith; and WHEREAS, Called to preach in 1960, Reverend Taylor was ordained in 1968 by Bishop R. E. Ranger; and WHEREAS, In 1966, this outstanding man of faith founded Pentecostal COGIC, and the church has thrived under his leadership throughout the past four decades; he has provided his congregants with inspired teachings and spiritual guidance and overseen the construction of the church home and the establishment of day care services; in addition to other improvements to the physical property and the adjacent neighborhood, Reverend Taylor is one of the original founders of the Riverside Ministerial Alliance of Churches; and WHEREAS, This esteemed clergyman has made a positive difference in the lives of countless people during his 40 years of dedicated service to the ministry, and he remains an inspiration to all who are privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate the Reverend R. L. Taylor on his 40th anniversary as pastor of Pentecostal Church of God in Christ in Fort Worth and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Reverend Taylor as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
