R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Nate Crain of Dallas was named a "Rising Star" by
Campaigns and Elections magazine in 2005, a tribute bestowed on
only a handful of promising political up-and-comers under the age
of 40; and
WHEREAS, The past chairman of the Dallas County Republican
Party, Mr. Crain accepted that leadership role in March 2002 and
guided the party to great success in the 2002 and 2004 elections; he
currently serves as cochairman of the Republican National Committee
Eagles and is a past vice chairman of the Republican Party of Texas
State Finance Committee; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Crain is the president of Crain Information
Systems, Inc., and holds a degree in political science from
Southern Methodist University; in 2000, he was named Outstanding
Young Alumnus by the SMU Young Alumni Board, and he currently sits
on the SMU Dedman College Executive Board; moreover, he is a former
president of the SMU Young Alumni and has been a member of the SMU
Board of Trustees Student Affairs Committee and the SMU Alumni
Association Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Crain served on the 2003 Texas Inaugural
Committee for Governor Rick Perry and Lieutenant Governor-Elect
David Dewhurst; he also served on the 1999 Inaugural Committee for
then Governor George W. Bush and Lieutenant Governor-Elect Rick
Perry; and
WHEREAS, Active citizen participation in the political
process is critical to a thriving democracy, and Nate Crain is most
deserving of special commendation for his recent recognition; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Nate Crain on
his selection as a "Rising Star" by Campaigns and Elections
magazine; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Crain as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
