R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Erica Martin of Austin has earned first place for 
color photography in the 2006 Texas Media Awards contest sponsored 
by the Texas Library Association; and
	WHEREAS, The daughter of Allison and Nolan Martin, this 
talented young lady is currently a second grade student at Hyde Park 
Baptist School; and
	WHEREAS, Her exceptional work, a photograph of the George 
Washington statue on The University of Texas at Austin campus, was 
judged the best entry by media professionals, who based their 
determination on four criteria: content, organization, creativity, 
and complexity; and
	WHEREAS, With this compelling picture, Erica Martin has 
demonstrated notable ability and imagination, and her achievement 
is a source of great pride to her family and school; now, therefore, 
be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Erica Martin 
on earning first place for color photography in the 2006 Texas Media 
Awards contest and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued 
success; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Miss Martin as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
