                                                                  H.R. No. 211


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the passing of Charles Henry Love of Dallas on April 13, 2006, at the age of 87; and WHEREAS, Born to E. W. D. and Frankie Riddle Love on September 2, 1918, in Pilot Point, this esteemed man attended Booker T. Washington Public School, where his father served as principal, and Texas College in Tyler; he bravely served his country during World War II as a member of the U.S. Army, earning an honorable discharge in 1946 after three years of duty; and WHEREAS, A valued employee of Texas Instruments, where he worked for more than 30 years before his 1982 retirement, Mr. Love was also a man of deep religious conviction; he enjoyed active membership with Good Street Baptist Church for over 50 years and tirelessly supported the congregation's many ministries; moreover, he served as first president of the congregation's Male Chorus and gave of his time and talents as an ordained deacon and as president, manager, and treasurer of the Good Street Federal Credit Union; and WHEREAS, Charles Love will long be remembered with warmth and affection; although he will be sorely missed, his legacy will live on in the hearts of the many people whose lives he touched; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Charles Henry Love and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife of 57 years, Inez Love; to his son, Charles Dwight Love and his wife, Deborah; to his daughters, Deborah Harper and Odessa Yvonne Ford; to his sister, Johnnie Mae Ponds; to his brother, Roy H. Love and his wife, Dolores; to his grandchildren, Corey D. Love and his wife, Tosha, Rickey Ford, Victor Harper, Nicholas Ford, and Dwayla Love; to his eight great-grandchildren; to his adopted son, the Reverend David D. Hurst and his wife, Manetha; to his adopted daughter, Harriett R. Houston and her husband, Leroy; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Charles Henry Love.
